How did you find this job?
I found this position by networking with industry professionals.

Please describe your job:
I help candidates find agronomy-related jobs that fit their career goals, as well as assist local coops in locating candidates that best fit their organizations. I spend a lot of time recruiting candidates at colleges and universities, conducting interviews and networking at various industry meetings. I also work with the development and execution of the three intern programs that Agriliance and CROPLAN GENETICS host in the summer.

What from your undergraduate educational experience was most helpful in preparing you for this career?
My best experiences were the two internships I had, my role as the Vice President of Recruitment at Lambda Delta Phi, and being the Minnesota Royal Chair.

What is the biggest misconception about this occupation or field?
The biggest misconception about this position is that it is easy; some days are actually very challenging.

What advice do you have for current students?
Make sure to get internships that are worth your while and do more than one.  Also, take on leadership roles in the student organizations that you are involved in (or get involved in student organizations if you’re not already), as well as embrace the opportunity to meet new people. Finally, have an idea of what your career goals are so that you can share them with potential networking contacts.  They may know someone who is looking for a person with your qualifications!
