What from your undergraduate educational experience was most helpful in preparing you for this career?
Internships! What you learn on the job is very valuable.

What is the biggest misconception about this occupation or field? What surprised you the most?
Lack of jobs in the Twin Cities and lack of connection from the University with the industry—in reality, there are many opportunities waiting for you.

What advice do you have for current students to help them make the most of their undergraduate experience or maximize their job search?
Get involved! Participate in the Food Science and Nutrition Club, IFT, and always intern.

Is there anything else you would like to add that we didn't ask you?
If you are planning to attend graduate school, build connections with professors at other schools. The IFT Convention is a great way to connect with these professors (other than visiting the school, which you should do).
