An Interior Design major prepares you for a career in working with clients to develop a design for their home or work environment. Career paths include planning interiors of corporate offices, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, or a variety of other establishments; assisting clients with their needs for lighting, furniture and wallcovering; consulting with clients on kitchen and bathroom design, window treatment and floor coverings; working in historic preservation; and working in stage design for the theatre.
Interior Design graduates typically work as interior designers in a wide range of settings, both commercial and residential. Most concentrate within design specialties, such as designing for the hospitality or health care industry, entertainment industry, government/institutional agencies, restaurants, or residential kitchens and baths.
