headerBackground

Are you interested in the management, protection and sustainable use of our country’s forests and related resources? Are you interested in learning how trees are harvested so that a new forest will grow back?  Do you think you would enjoy making maps and designing forest roads?  Do you like to work outdoors?

A Forest Resources major prepares you for a career in overseeing the harvesting of timber for construction and pulpwood for paper production; studying the effects of insects and disease on forest lands; or overseeing the operation of a park or preserve as a park superintendent.

Forest Resources graduates typically work as forest managers, conservationists, researchers, habitat managers, ecologists, GIS specialists, silviculture coordinators, land acquisition specialists, and environmental planners and educators.
