Are you interested in the role of nutrition in health and wellness, weight management, and disease prevention?  Do you enjoy science?  Do you enjoy working with food and with people, such as helping clients choose wise food options?

A Nutrition major prepares you for a career in assessing people’s nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutritional programs, and evaluating their progress.  Career paths may include working as a dietitian in a health care facility, such as nursing homes and hospitals, supervising the preparation and serving of meals; counsel individuals and groups on good nutritional practices in the community, such as public health clinics, home health agencies and HMO’s; performing nutrition screenings for clients in wellness programs, sports teams, health clubs, and other nutrition-related businesses.

Nutrition graduates typically work as registered dietitians, nutritionists, health educators, sales reps for food companies, and fitness or sports nutritionists.
