The best way to learn about a field is not to go to books and web sites, but to speak directly with someone in the profession!  Students who take this approach often learn far more about a field and industry than they thought possible.  Many students also report that talking to professionals leads to great tips for getting internships or jobs in the field.

In this section of our web site, you will find an overview of different strategies for meeting professionals.  The students with the clearest sense of career direction typically have met with professionals in at least one of the following ways.
