Practice Interviews

In Person Practice Interviews
A great way to prepare for a job interview is to have an in-person practice interview with a career counselor. During the session the staff member will ask you questions for approximately 15 minutes and video tape your responses.

The remaining 45 minutes will be spent reviewing the video together and giving you specific tips on your interview strengths as well as ways to improve for the future.

Online Practice Interviews-InterviewStream
InterviewStream is a webcam-based virtual mock interviewing tool that allows you to select interview questions, use a webcam to record your answers and immediately review your responses.

To get started, simply follow these steps:

  • Visit the InterviewStream web page.
  • Create an account, set up your webcam, pick your questions, and start interviewing.
  • Don’t have a webcam? Check one out from the St. Paul Campus Career Center in 198 McNeal Hall.

Tip: InterviewStream works best with a fast internet connection.

If you would like feedback on your InterviewStream interview from a career advisor, we are happy to help! Simply call 612-624-2170 to set up a 30 minute appointment.
