How did you find this job?
I found this job through the St. Paul Campus Career service's website.

Please describe your job:
I'm in Merchant Support, so I complete requests submitted by the buying office to make changes and updates to PO's and the order system.  I am also in charge of monitoring our team's e-mail inbox.

What from your undergraduate educational experience was most helpful in preparing you for this career?
Retail Math came in handy when learning my job.  The internship that I had made me realize that I did not want to work in the stores, but in a Corporate environment instead.

What is the biggest misconception about this occupation or field?
Working in retail, you do not go to runway shows or fly to Milan.  I knew that before hand, but I know others did not.  What surprised me the most was how many people it takes to order merchandise for a store.

What advice do you have for current students?
Go to the Career Services office and use it.  Go online and look for job postings that you have interest in.  After you interview, always send a thank you note, no matter what.
